Jackie Terry Hughes, Owner

Jackie Terry HughesJackie has focused much of her career on counseling and defending manufacturing entities in both product liability and general litigation matters. Her wide breadth of experience ranges from handling litigation and pre-suit claims to drafting corporate policies and product warranty terms to assisting in the investigation and defense of catastrophic events.  Jackie’s twenty-plus years of defending companies in state and federal courts from inception though trial, allows her to assist clients in protecting themselves before and after an issue arises.  Jackie has also argued before the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and North Carolina’s Court of Appeals.

Jackie serves as contracted counsel to the risk management and insurance group of a large multinational pharmaceutical corporation where she oversees sensitive claims and litigation; drafts internal procedures and guidelines; and assists in the internal investigation of matters with potential for reputational risk.

Jackie has also conducted internal investigations into product complaints; assists clients in responding to complaints made to the Consumer Product Safety Commission; drafts recall plans and works with companies to create compliance programs to more efficiently manage and track product concerns.  She also assists clients in review and drafting of warranty terms and contract language limiting liability. Jackie is a certified Compliance and Ethics Professional and received her CCEP in 2012. 

Jackie is admitted to the North Carolina, New York and New Jersey bars. She is admitted to all District Courts in North Carolina and New Jersey as well as the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.

Jackie has been named a North Carolina Super Lawyer by Law and Politics.
